Background
The scenario is not so far-fetched, in fact, the TEA program which now regularly sends teachers to the poles started by a teacher accompanying his students who were part of an earlier program. The teacher idea then caught on. The first American kid to go to Antarctica was Eagle Scout Paul Siple who accompanied Adm. Richard E. Byrd on one of his expeditions. Siple went on to study meteorology and wind effects on the White Continent, his most lasting achievement being the study and naming of the concept of wind chill.
