Ongoing
I have been working to include more marine microbiology activities in my
Marine Science curriculum. These include experiments similar to those
conducted on board the Polar Duke during my Antarctic experience. I have
stayed in touch with my PI, Wade Jefferies, and have tried to keep up to date
on the publications dealing with his work in Antarctica.
I have also tried to incorporate, whenever appropriate, polar related
activities into my Horticulture curriculum. During the second semester of
this year we will be working with high efficiency composting and hydroponics
growing, trying to simulate conditions of extreme space and energy
limitations.
