Classroom Transfer

How are you sharing your research experience with students? I'm preparing my students in many ways. One is simply through pictures and maps on the walls of my classroom. I showed the IMAX film, "Antarctica," in my class to highlight some of the features of the continent. In my class at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science (DMNS),I showed a video of micrometeorite recovery from the south pole water well. I have also put together a pre-trip PowerPoint that I have been showing at department meetings and faculty in-services. One activity that I'm proud of is a meteorite search activity that allows the students to conduct a mock meteorite search. I tie this in with the meteorite searches taking place through the ANSMET team.
