Other Classroom Connections:
We were notified in February, 2004 that the website “POP Goes Antarctica”, on the Polar Science Station http://literacynet.org/polar has been nominated for inclusion as an educational resource in the Broad Collection of the Digital Library for Earth System Education (DLESE). As it has been described, “DLESE is a nationwide effort to find, create, catalog and disseminate excellent digital materials for helping people learn and teach about the Earth and environment”. The “POP Goes Antarctica” website was designed to provide access to lower skill level learners to the world of polar science. This website, http://literacynet.org/polar/pop/html/home.html , has learning activities connected to workplace skills as well as specific math activities related to life and work at an American Antarctic program science research station.
