Other Classroom Connections:
Students created teams of students who focused on different aspects of research in Antarctica. At times, they worked with the like science specialists of other teams, and other times, they contributed to the main group assigned. Activities that students presented included reports about a specific explorer, their own Fram design, coring explanations, fossil ties to Pangeai, and culminating in a original research proposal. The six week unit is one that the students anticipate each year.
