How are you sharing your research experience with your colleagues, district, community, etc? I have not been in the field yet, but I have workshops scheduled or planned to inform students, teachers, and the community about TEA and polar studies.

1. I was awarded a grant for $2000.00 dollars to provide each of the five schools in our district with a TEA bag. Each bag contains 20+ books on Polar Regions, 3 videos, an Antarctica poster, an Antarctic CD Rom on wildlife, and polar puzzles. The grant will also fund shipment of the TEA trunk containing ECW gear. 2. Presentation to Chamber of Commerce Jan 15, 2002. Although this presentation is to adults, they are encouraged to sit with their children, grandchildren, and other family members to visit the TEA website and follow a TEA teacher. 3. Presentation to 100+ grade two students at the Dighton Elementary School in Dighton, MA.

This is a group of 20 students who meet for two hours once a week to learn about polar studies. They will serve as student leaders in the middle school next year. Planned activities: Paint a mural, tutor at elementary school, present to parents, and host

No formal activities to date. I do communicate via e-mail a few times each week with three TEA teachers I met at orientation.

Planned meeting for Jan 16, 2002 for conference call with Mentoring Resource Group.

Plan t attend NSTA Convention in San Diego in March and will be available at times to help as needed.
