This was my second season with Dr. Harritt. An added responsibility this time was to conduct an oral history research project. Four students in Orange, MA interviewed six people in Wales, Alaska. We studied oral history and its importance prior to my leaving. Upon returning home, the students have presented their projects. As a result, Dr. Harritt has asked us to do a presentation at the Alaska Anthropological Conference in Fairbanks, Alaska in March.

How are you sharing your research experience with your colleagues, district, community, etc?
I have met with my mentoring group and are in the process of a year long study of the Arctic. The 4 students have done presentaions to other classrooms. I have presented in grades 1-6 in the Orange School community, 102 4th graders in Ayer, MA, the entire 5th grade in Waltham, MA. I have done outsude presentations to the Orange Library, The New Salem Fire Department, the town of New Salem, the Athol Orange Rotary Club, the Athol Bird and Nature Club, and to 3 various teacher study groups.
I have also conducted power point workshops at professional development day. I have done grant writing with my colleaugues.

The work is ongoing throughout the 2002-2003 school year. The parcticipants are the Orange School community, the Ayer, MA community, and the Waltham Elementary Community.
