Discussed problems, successes with field experiences. Worked on some possible collaborations in presentations with Louise Huffman.

Presentation Date, Title, Number of Attendees, Etc. 8-23-02 Gave power point presentation to the entire Simmons staff on the TEA program and looking for mentoring partners for my collaborative Learning requirement. Aprox. 75 attendees
9-25-02 Went to Aurora Academy and presented a power point, posed and answered questions with a third grade class. I loaned the teacher some of my Antarctic Bulletin board materials and she used them to educate her students on Antarctica and the TEA program. 5 students in that classroom.
10-1-02 Gave power point presentation for Karen Morris's two science classes, demonstrating the TEA program and polar facts. Aprox. 7 attendees
10-15-02 Gave power polar presentation to all District 131 principals, demonstrating the TEA program and requesting that they each let me give a presentation to their staffs so that they can follow the TEA program. Aprox. 20 attendees
11-18-02 Gave power point presentation to the staff at AMPSA Academy. 10 Attendees.
11-25-02 Gave power point presentation to Rollings Elementary School staff Aprox. 40 attendees

9-25-02 Applied for a grant from British Petroleum to fund the technology portion of my Arctic field experience to fund my collaborative learning team and myself as we develop inquiry-based learning materials.
11-12-02 Presented to the Curriculum and Technology Commitee for district 131. 5 attendees
MISC: Published TEA journals and put "polar facts page" in the school newspaper. Maintained and updated a school wall as a bulletin board, with TEA program facts, polar facts, polar animals and my specific assignment details.

6. Anticipated TEA Involvement (01/2003 to 01/2004)


Parcticipate in my two-part field experience. Present to 10 more schools in my district, present to the board of education, present to 4 (at least) schools outside my district, present to the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Present to the Lion's club. Planning and implementing a polar unit to my students and other students in Simmons. Present to all Simmons Middle School science classes. Turning in at least three activites to the TEA webpage. Contine meeting with my Polar Collaborative Learning Team. Publicize the field experience and the TEA Program as much as possible.

Hopefully: Work with the Middle School in Kotzebue Alaska in joint science projects and science pen pals with my students. Work with Summer School science program and/or the Aurora Public Library to have people follow my journals,
