Continued Collaboration with Research Team Members
Type of Interaction / Outcomes / Dates / Locations / Parcticipants:
Our research team has been in contact several times since the field experience via email. We have shared some of the general scientific findings, pictures and ideas.
Robert Suydam (PI) and I have spent extra time discussing Swan data collected during the field season. He was planning a school visit last fall, but the plans fell through. He is now planning to visit the first or second week in March. During that time, he will meet with my classes during the day and the community during the evening. The meetings will cover field research, our specific research together, and the beluga study he has been involved in (this is relative to our village here on the Bering Strait).
How are you sharing your research experience with your colleagues, district, community, etc?
Oct. 27 - District wide inservice in which I discussed the TEA program and my experience. I also discussed possible classroom ideas I have centering on the field season.
Presentation: March, 2002 - Board meeting at Ogallala Public Schools (last years employer).
Colleague sharing - this is continuous! We tell each other what we've found recently on the web site, discuss Arctic science as it applies to our area.
