1. Interaction

Field Experience

Continued Collaboration with Research Team Members

Type of Interaction / Outcomes / Dates / Locations / Parcticipants: *Scientist Classroom/Community Presentation: Robert Suydam, lead researcher I worked with out of the North Slope Borough, visited Elim in March, 2003. He gave a presentation of his general job description, the work he and I did, and answered questions within my classes. In the evening, he provided a similar presentation, with the addition of specific work he is involved with regarding Beluga migration (this is of parcticular interest here, as Beluga are a subsistence food). **Robert Suydam and I have continued email/phone contact regarding both the work we did together, work I am interested in, and work he is involved in. We probably communicate at least 1 time every 2 months.

Has a member of your research team visited your classroom in the last year?

How are you sharing your research experience with your colleagues, district, community, etc? *Work Shop: I presented at the BSSD pre-school inservice (August, 2003) *I am involved in the BSSD mentor program, so share much of my work and potential of TEA with many other science teachers in our district (via email, inservice, videoconference) *unfortunately, I have moved and staff within BSSD are 'transient', so my specific mentees have changed frequently
