Continued Collaboration with Research Team Members
Type of Interaction / Outcomes / Dates / Locations / Parcticipants:
Periodic telephone/email contact with Dr. Bess Ward and Dr. Mark Wells. Have been invited to parcticipate in future Antarctic field research should they received funding (2003 and 2004).
How are you sharing your research experience with your colleagues, district, community, etc?
1. Highly visible Antarctic display in the science wing of our school. 2. Continued interaction with local elementary schools through presentations. 3. Community service presentations to the Metallic Club of Kennedy Heights, several elementary schools, and the Armchair Program with the West Chester Parks and Recreation Commission 4. Collaboration with the Museum Center (Cincinnati Historical Museum and the Museum of Natural History) in planning and preparation for the “Frozen Weekend” that coincided with the opening of the Endurance exhibit and the Jason Project. I gave a series of presentations about my research experience in Antarctica and parcticipated in hands-on projects for both adults and children who visited the exhibit. We also included a live from the field broadcast of the Jason Project’s current program “Frozen Worlds”.
