Additional Comments: My location at Toolik Lake allowed me to have excellent computer access during the fall experience. Consequently, I was able to make use of instant messaging functions as well as email. I was able to have real time contact with a number of students and teachers through this function.

Students freeze example insects to study the concept of freeze tolerance and freeze avoidance. Students use thermal probes to identify isotherms of test species.
