Additional Comments: I received about 25 e-mails a day for 6 weeks. I grew and developed as a science teacher, but this experience also taught me so much more about myslef as well. I gained skills that I didn't know I would gain or ever use again, but have!It was a very rewarding experience. I would love to go back.

Continued Collaboration with Research Team Members

Type of Interaction / Outcomes / Dates / Locations / Parcticipants: August - Research team reunion - we had dinner together, talked about the research there and the direction it is moving into now back home, and each one of us prepared and showed a power point presentation of our experience. Sept-Saw Dr.McClintock and spoke to him about upcoming and recent past community presentations about the research accompplished there. Oct-Spoke with Dr. Chuck Amsler about coming to the school to share and updated him on community presentations. Dec-Spoke with Maggie Amsler about some research questions I had about what was learned after I came home- I'm working on some lessons and needed the info.

Type of Interaction / Outcomes / Dates / Locations / Parcticipants: David Cordes and Sarah van Os teach with me. David and I team teach together. He has 5th grade and I have third. We have partnered each one of his students with one of mine and those children work together daily for an hour on various science research learning projects. Sarah is a very skillful reading teacher. Sarah and I have partnered together to create reading lessons for children focusing on their interests in science to help improve their reading skills.

e-mailed and partnered and shared information with other TEA's that were in the field at the same time I was. TEA Associate Jerry Loomer and I went on a field institute in Alaska together working with researchers. I mentored Dee Hellmers on her application to the TEA program.
