How are you sharing your research experience with your colleagues, district, community, etc? I continue to do numarous workshops, mainly for student as reequested by their teachers.

I am working on a thematic unit for my team and the special education team. It will include about 150 students and 6 teachers.

Type of Interaction / Outcomes / Dates / Locations / Parcticipants: Tom Repine E-mails-- September to present We have set up a presentation on my trip for the GSA meeting in Washington, D.C. in March

Carol Hamilton, Karen Ash, Andera Demasi-- May to present I meet daily with Carol (geography teacher)for a 43 minute planning period. I meet with Karen (special education science teacher)once a week, and I meet with Andrea(special education social studies teacher) once a month. The 3 of us began our mentoring group in May when we spent 7 hours together to start up an inclusion team and at that time we began to plan a Polar thematic unit. We often work on collaborative lessons. The thematic Polar unit that we are planning will involve dr. Peter Michael, my P.I. My mentoring team is also attending a 3 day conference together in March dealing with inclusion, team teaching, and integration of thematic units. I feel that by March of 2004, I will have met my required hours.

Type of Grant / Grant Title: Berkeley County Inclusion Grant

Purpose of Grant: Bought 40 copies of "Woodsong" for our Polar thematic unit and the TV Gold was to display images and lessons from my laptop to the TV in my classroom

Date of Application: This was a county won grant and our school received $7000. I personally was permitted to spend approximately $275 for TEA related materials (books, TV Gold)

I will be having a second child in July (my second since my return from the field) I plan to complete my mentoring group hours by June 2004 ,and then I will takea 6 month maternity leave from my school district. and TEA.
