Field Experience

Continued Collaboration with Reasearch Team Members

Location: Crandon

Type of Interaction: Worked with Anna Klenne and Fritz Nelson and others of the team on a paper for "The Journal of Geomorphology. The paper should be published this year.
We should have a paper that will present the TEA program and colaboration between researchers and teachers as a positive experience.

How are you sharing your research experience with students? I have been working on several applications of my research experience. The main one involves the project that I wrote at the activity workshop. I also took a group of students to the Regional NSTA convention in Milwaukee.

Activity:
I attended the meeting at Rice to establish the template for activities in January 2000. I also attended the activity workshop at CRREL during the summer.

I presented 5 times at the NSTA Convention in Orlando and worked at the booth as well.

NSTA 2000

    1. Classroom Antarctica with Steph and Pete at 12:30 April 7 in room 304B.
    We will be presenting classroom activities and the TEA program.

    2. From Polarbears to Penguins with Steve April 7 at 8:00.
    We will be introducing the arctic research we parcticipated in and have a session with activities in the classroom.

    3. On the Ice and into the Classroom with steve, Besse, and Pete on April 6 at 2:00.
    We will be presenting theTEA program and a selection of classroom activities at several levels.

    4. It's Not Just Penguins and Polarbears with Steve on April 7 at 9:30 in room 232C.
    We plan on introducing Polar research topics and their application in the classroom.

I presented at the Regional NSTA Convention in Milwaukee.
