Continued Collaboration with Reasearch Team Members Type of Interaction / Outcomes / Dates / Locations / Parcticipants: High School presentation from visiting scientist Jim Madsen, The University of Wisconsin.
08/04/2002-08/07/2002
How are you sharing your research experience with your colleagues, district, community, etc?
I have developed a number of units is a few of my classes that specifically integrated my research experience. For example, when I am covering atomic theory, the students learn about quarks and the search for fundemental parcticles. Another example is in my geology class, I show students photographs of the glaciers in Antarctica and we do calculations to determine when the current South Pole is most likely to fall into the ocean as part of an iceburg.
