Activities Development

Title: The Search for Life

Description:
My Collaborative Learning Group and I have developed a very successful teacher workshop focused on the search for life. Activities include: testing for life, why Mars is red, meteorites, and invent-a-lifeform.

Other Classroom Connections: 1)Continued development of K-6 student assembly program. 2)My Collaborative Learning Group and I worked together to submit an application for selection as a NASA Explorer School (NES). We have been selected as a 2004 NES School! This involves three years of support from NASA and a grant of $17,500. My group and I will continue working together for an additional three years to provide inquiry-based learning for our K-5 students, professional development for our teachers, and family science opportunities for our community. Of course, polar science will be included in all we do!
