Went to Antarctica and worked in the Dry Valleys!
Had ongoing e-mail communication with four main elementary classrooms, and intermittent exchanges with numerous others while on the ice.
Gave a presentation to a rural New Zealand school (Tuahiwi School) through the LEARNZ program.
Met with an elementary school teacher in Le Bons Bay, New Zealand, and answered e-mails from her thirteen students.
Stopped in at the secondary school in Akaroa, New Zealand and told the principal, librarian and science teacher about the program.

How are you sharing your research experience with your colleagues, district, community, etc?
Gave an all-school assembly at Orcas Elementary School.
Gave presentations to eleven classrooms in my district, and two at private schools on Orcas
Worked with two of my sixth grade teaching colleagues, our intermediate special education teacher and my substitute to help them prepare to teach a
unit on Antarctica
Sent outreach packets to 37 teachers in San Juan County- most of them by request
