Classroom Transfer

How are you sharing your research experience with students? Antarctic science has been core in the study of Thermodynamics, astronomy and acoustics. We incorporate activities developed by TEA teachers into the curriculum as well as have students follow the daily journals of the teachres in the field.

Location: UW River Falls

Type of Interaction: I work with the AMANDA/ICECUBE projects at UW Madison. I work with a group of 3 graduate students and 20 teachers to learn about Antarctic parcticle physics and to develop activities based upon the teams research for use in middle and high school classrooms.

Presentation fo a weeklong workshop focusing on using technology, and internet resources. Two days were spent evaluating the TEA website and activites for use in the elementary classroom.
