I spent most of the day in the lab measuring osmolarity and glucose concentrations in the blood I drew yesterday. I also bled fish from Sunday, to see what changes if any had occurred over a day of rest. I plan to retry the experiment where I injected a glucose solution in the morning and bled the fish every three hours. After six hours I injected insulin into some of the fish to see if there was a subsequent change in the glucose levels. This time I will inject the insulin after three hours. The data I've collected so far shows that this may be a more appropriate time in order too see significant changes in the blood glucose levels.
