28 September, 1998Monday, September 28th I reported to the Antarctic center in Christchurch NZ to try on ECW "Extreme Cold Weather" gear. I was given two bags full of everything yoiu could think of- some of it I wasn't even sure what to do with! Actually other members of my group had clued me in as to what I would need for the work we will do. Some things had to be returned for a different sizes or styles, but eventually I was all geared up and rearing to go. We were told to be back at 4:45 am to dress in our cold weather gear for the trip to McMurdo Base in Antarctica.
