We steamed through the end of the Drake Passage today and at dusk, we
arrived at the islands of Antarctica. The protection of the islands
and the ice in the water calmed the seas. How odd it seems to weave
our way through pieces of ice floating in the salt water. The
islands are in habited with seals and penguins and occasionally a
pair of penguins will swim by the ship. We should be at Palmer
Station tomorrow.
