Aloha!
I suppose all good things must come to an end and, thus, the ocean
research voyage did also. The last day on the water was spent packing
materials and preparing to go ashore. Around 2:30 in the morning, we
rounded the end of the island, Oahu, putting us on the lee or sheltered
side of the island. The waves are much calmer on the lee side, so we
were no longer being tossed about like we were when the waves were 4-12
feet. We docked at about 7:30am. Unloading the boat continued throughout
the day.
The order of business for the next few days will be to help the
researchers with running tests. Once all those samples come back, they
must be tested and the data entered. Much later down the road, the data
are analyzed.
Aloha!
