8 July, 1997Aloha! As the boat traveled about 60 east of Hawai'i, the seas got a bit rough with 6-8 ft waves. Needless to say that even though I am used to being on a boat, I am NOT used to being on a boat in the Pacific Ocean! Things were better toward the morning and we took water samples a couple of times again. During the end of the lst set, one of the crew alerted us to th fact that there were some dolphins in the area. I went to a higher deck and saw 4 dolphins. There was a mother and baby with two other dolphins. One ofthe 2 other dolphins would jump out of the water about 1/3 of the way and look the boat over carefully. This is called "spy hopping." Why would they want to look US over? Food on board is delicious and has great variety. Treats are always available (to those who feel like eating while in transit). During my tour of the boat, someone asked if I knew the rules about ice cream. When I replied "no", I was informed that there were NO rules!!! This could be a dangerous cruise! That's all for now.
