1. Felt like a warm January day. Low and thick clouds didn't allow much sunlight. The snow cover is melting drastically leaving large puddles of water. Home school kids didn't seem concerned and immediately proceeded with their work.

2. Within a week, average snow depth decreased from 20 cm to 16 cm, snow density increased from 209 kg/m3 to 211 kg/m3, and ice thickness increased another .5 cm. What do you think will happen to the ice thickness next week?

3. Imagine what will happen to this puddle of water when temperatures drop to below freezing tonight. How will this affect ice thickness?
