My intern's name is Bernadette Hatcher. She is a student in the
School of Education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She
is currently student teaching in my classroom. When I leave for
Antarctica, she will take over as my substitute teacher. Bernadette
and I could not have asked for a better internship placement. She
and I have many things in common. She has had some of the same
professors I had when I attended UAB. We share the same philosophy
of education. We are the same age and both of us worked for a bank
before we went into education. Bernadette's sister, Quameka Cole,
works for my principal investigator, Chuck Amsler, in the School of
Natural Sciences and Mathematics at UAB.
