Tonight I was given the honor of speaking about my upcoming Antarctic
research to the Eastwood Neighborhood Association.  McElwain Elementary,
where I teach, serves the Eastwood community.  The members seemed very
excited about a teacher from their district going to Antarctica to do
scientific research.  They were also pleased that they could be my "virtual
students" and follow my expedition on the website.  I hope they will keep in
touch through e-mail.
