8 August, 2000This week we began our polar adventures. We are in New Hampshire for orientation and are learning so many interesting things. We are hearing fabulous stories from past parcticipants, learning about all aspects of working in polar environments, and working on grasping the responsibilities that our trip will entail. There are wonderfully helpful and intelligent people involved at every level and in every aspect of our orientation. We are all thrilled, and are looking forward to the moment when we will receive the news of where we will be sent.
