How did your work with your team help you meet the professional growth goals you
set for yourself?
I was able to bring my team up to date as to expectations while I'm on my research trip. They were able to give me ideas about how I can help them in connecting their classrooms with polar research.
How did your work with your team impact your content knowledge and pedagogy?
This helped me to expand my knowledge of polar research and to become more familiar with the Colorado Education Standards. We are developing a new year-long Global Science class that will benefit fromt the activities developed related to my experience. Recently, I picked up several resource packets from a trip related to my research trip that can be implemented in a number of content areas.
What materials / resources / workshops did you
use / produce / host with your team members over the last year?
We produced very little in that I didn't know what I would be doing in Antarctica until the end of the spring semester. But, I did bring back numerous resources from NASA and will be planning a workshop at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in the spring.
Based on the past year,
what ideas do you have to improve the effectiveness of
your team interactions?
It is difficult for all of us to get together, so I think that using school time that's already provided would work best.
Total hours of collaboration with each team member:
Chris Funk: 4.5 hours
Rob Funk: 3.5 hours
Jeremy Newman: 30 hours
John Bell: 3.5 hours
