How did your work with your team help you meet the professional growth goals you set for yourself?
1.Although we are just beginning, I feel we are headed in the right direction. Already we have expanded the polar community to "officially" include eight high school teachers and several elementary and middle school teachers have expressed similar interest and we will be scheduling some formal meetings over the next several weeks to generate more interest. 2. Mentees have begun to experiment with Powerpoint and have visited the website.

How did your work with your team impact your content knowledge and pedagogy?
We have not incorporated any unique activities to date, but we have generated many ideas and have set goals. We are parcticularly pleased that the teachers who have agreed to become involved are from a variety of disciplines ( 2-Math, 1-English, 2 History, 1 Science, 1-Journalism, and 1 Art). We feel confident that as things progress, even more teachers will become interested at this level. Together, the team has learned many things about polar studies, but we have just scratched the surface.

What materials / resources / workshops did you use / produce / host with your team members over the last year?
1. A presentation, (Powerpoint format) adaptable from 20-40 minutes for the community and various organizations. 2. A presentation for grade 2 students. 3. A presentation for grade 4 students. 4. I have started to develop a teacher workshop; presentations are scheduled for March 8 and March 21, 2002. Note: Although I developed these presentations, they were reviewed by the mentoring team. We will certainly be working collaboratively during this year to create presentations and develop lessons.

Based on the past year, what ideas do you have to improve the effectiveness of your team interactions?
None at this time. Right now I am very happy with our relationship and look forward to a creative and productive year.
