Michelle and I reviewed some class activities for the end of 1st semester, reviewed prior plans, reviewed goals from retreat (2002), and discussed plans for spring NSTA conference.

Hawley made some suggestions for my TEA activity. We discussed how my activity can be more inquiry based.

All four of us are a team of tech trainers and we will be meeting frequently to discuss training topics for staff on campus.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
We discussed ways to incorporate technology in the classroom. For the Beaumont grant, we need to include both technology and literacy.

We got together to create a powerpoint presenation for the first staff training.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
We addressed issues that may arise during the first training. One example is some teachers may feel overwhelmed with the project requirements. Each teacher will receive approximately $4,000 worth of tech equipment in their classroom but a project must be done in exchange.

I wanted to present a snow activity for Michelle's 1st/2nd grade students and she gave me feedback on different approaches.

We addressed the importance of using visual aides first and then provide the details, unlike used in public education.

I will be presenting my non-published TEA activity at California School for the Deaf-Fremont and Riverside. Hawley provided feedback in terms of how I introduce my activity.

Hawley made some points and suggested I stay within' the goal and not go off topic.

I will be presenting my non-published TEA activity at California School for the Deaf-Fremont and Riverside. Barbara provided feedback in terms of how I introduce my activity.

Barbara suggested I have a solid evaluation in mind when presenting my activity to make sure students understand what I'm trying to teach.

Michelle wanted some tips for a science unit on Solids. We reviewed the curriculum and discussed some actiities that can be used with her students.

During our discussion for some activities, we talked about how this information will apply for students.

We met to continue with the Beaumont project and worked on more PowerPoints as examples. Michelle and I created a movie with a student signing a poem using a science concept.

We will ask this student to translate his poem into English. The point is for students to improve ASL poetry and English translation.

We provided a role play for our staff showing how their projects should incorporate literacy. Michelle and I showed the PowerPoint with the student signing ASL poetry with English captions.

We discussed the importance of procedures for this activity and how this activity is to be developed by students during classtime. This project is to be incorporated in the teachers' units.

The next workshop needs to cover the content of the project. Michelle and I discussed how to integrate science and math concepts.

We discussed the importance of scientific concept and how to show this project will address both content and literacy.

Michelle and I presented a PowerPoint presentation on integrating science/math content and literacy for the Beaumont project.

During this PowerPoint presentation, teachers asked a lot of questions in reference to content knowledge and how we can evaluate literacy.

The next training will focus on the big picture of this project. Teachers should have already finished up their projects. We will teach teachers how to burn CDs.

I discussed the Beaumont project with Barbara to give her some ideas for her future classes. She was fascinated with the activities we did with teachers and how we incorporated science and literacy. Barbara is very skilled with integrating language arts and science.

Barbara gave some good insight for future projects.

The project is almost finished. The Beaumont projects from all teachers will be shown on campus for all departments and the community. We discussed things we needed to do for this showcase.

Michelle and I presented the opening for the showcase and two students presented their projects. The whole school showed up as well as some community members. It was a success!

This is our last meeting of the year for the Beaumont project. We gathered all of the data from all teachers and evaluated student results.

Michelle and I mostly worked on data analysis especially in the area of literacy. Most teachers felt students' language will improve if this project is used more often.

Barbara got a new job and we discussed how we could address TEA with her new school and classes.

Michelle has switched positions. She will be teaching middle school science this year. We will be meeting often to check up on her process. We covered materials needed for the year-long topic in Life Science and how polar science could be incorporated.

Michelle will be discussing animals and will discuss animals in the Tundra biome.

This was a fun meeting. We got together and did a volcano lab. This lab was a bit dangerous so we did it together so we could improve for the next lab with students.

I've never had so much fun! It's been awhile since I did a lab with anotehr adult. We discussed how this lab could be improved especially with the materials we were using: propane, matches, fryer, oil.
