How did your work with your team help you meet the professional growth goals you set for yourself?
In working with two additional teachers we were able to begin to write a correlation outline between the TEA project and my research to fit to our districts science outcomes. The district wads more willing to let me take part in other TEA activities with some kind of proof that it matches to outcomes.

How did your work with your team impact your content knowledge and pedagogy?
As I stated above, the outcomes for the district are closley monitored and one area that my experience falls in line with is that of the steps of scienetific research.

What materials / resources / workshops did you use / produce / host with your team members over the last year?
I hosted a workshop similar to my part in the short course NSTA/TEA from 2001. The title was 'Turning Research into Inquiry-based Lessons' It was a small group of fifteen teachers. All of them recieved information on the TEA program as well as details of my workshop. Each teacher received a packet of four pages that outline the scientific research steps and examples of how students can use this for most types of elementary labs.

Based on the past year, what ideas do you have to improve the effectiveness of your team interactions?
I plan to try and work more closely with teachers in my new district. I have had to move to a new school district so the collaboration with the previous teachers has slowed down quite a bit. I find it very useful to do small workshops for groups of teachers and it also helps bring in more interest. I feel like this will also help to bring together teachers in grade levels or areas that have some kind of curriculm link to polar regions or biomes studies.

Total hours of collaboration with each team member:
117 hrs with Lisa Klosner (including workshops and presentations together) 113 hrs with Carol Clark (including workshops and teacher inservices) 57 hrs completed with Lisa Henggeler and this is done because she has moved and we are unable to continue. 10 hrs with Cindy Vann (new mentee)

Additional reflections:
It has not been a task of convience to put so many hours into this parcticular portion of my TEA responsibilities. I have had to forgo a number of presentation opportunities and teacher in-services in order to make a choice over the mentor program hours. If I were to calculate the number of hours spent in colaboration with teachers in general on all my related TEA activities and field experiences, my hours of parcticipation are even larger, but it isn't with the specific three, now four teachers that I am trying to get hours in with. Other than the large number of hours mandated, it has been somewhat workable, but like I said, I had to make choices.
