Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
We discussed ways to get teachers involved. The curriuculum director for the elementary schools had some good ideas that would not interfere with teachers at that level but would get them involved. We also looked at their curriculum to see if anything would fit well in the spring.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
We used the curriculum guide for the elementary schools and looked at how the technology that they have could be used to keep in contact while in Greenland.

Goal(s) of Meeting
Meet and say thankyou for keeping people organized while I was in Greenland. Discuss how everythig went.

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
I showed pictures of the Greenland experience and we discussed how it went on the teachers end. Time seemed to be the toughest area for the teachers. Sometimes they did not want to leave their curriculum and would only read every other day. When the began e-mailing that was teh most fun as the were getting responses from me.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
We discussed the problems with using satellite phones and connections.

Goal(s) of Meeting
Plan units for the year especially the first month of the year. Organized curriculum to work with each other and shoaring resources.

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
We spent about 5 hours each day aligning our curriculum with each other and then trying to establish how standards were fitting into our units. We are trying to teach at the same speed which will help each person prepare less and will be able to spe3nd more time designing new lessons in the unit.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
Much of our planning is based upon constructivism, critical thinking and hands on teaching. Using technology especially vernier probes and data projectors is something each person is trying to integrate more.

Goal(s) of Meeting
Align curriculums to standards and produce assessment rubrics toward each of the standards.

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
Ken O'Connor was a speaker on how to assess students and show progress with report cards. His idea is to grade on standards and not grade on work ethic, behavior,etc... It is best to post two different grades, one for academics and one for behavior.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
Content was not the area of concern but how content knowledge was assessed. Teachers had to make rubrics for each standard. Then standard should be assessed 3 to 5 different times through a year. By the end studetns should have learned the standard or at least had the opportunity to do so.

Additional reflections:
It is a whole new way of thinking. I believe that to work it needsto be state wide. Otherwise having two different grades would or could be a detriment for students.

Goal(s) of Meeting
Set up and take down labs, establish new lessons and units.

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
Barb and I have a one period common prep every day. Similar to lunch, she and I align our lessons so that each of us can help the other prepare each day.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
Because the two of us are able to work together we can bounce ideas off of each other to make better lesson and units. We can also help each other set up verner probes and projectors which can be difficult to set up.

Additional reflections:
This time is by far teh most useful time for the two of us. We are able to help each other and it is one reason the two of us are successful teaching 7th grade science.
