To write our team's procedure book and beging planning the fist week of school.

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
Resources: ITI (Kavolic) book, Kagan Team building book, notes from summer workship internet, MS Publisher, and sample procedure book.

Discussion Points: Team building exercises, school and team polocies, lifeskills and lifelong guidelines, MI, learning styles

Next steps: Review draft of procedure book

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
Pedagogy- the entire into unit is desgined to build classroom community. Once the community has been built, students will feel safe to work with each other in a learning environment.

NOS- not really addressed today...

Technology- used to create a team calendar of events (lessons, schedules, etc.) and procedure book.

Great day! We are really looking forward to our year. If we could only find an English teacher!

Location: Staples Office Supply - It was teacher appreciation day and we ended up sitting in the office chair section of the store :-)

Goal(s) of Meeting
Recap what neeed to be done during teacher week. Teacher week was starting and I was going to miss it as I needed to be at orientation.

Resources- copy machines,newly printed procedure book

Discussion points- Team building, procedure book review, what needed to be done while I was at orientation and missing teacher week

Next steps- Begin thinking about second week and second unit.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
Pedagogy- the entire into unit is desgined to build classroom community. Once the community has been built, students will feel safe to work with each other in a learning environment.

NOS- not really addressed today...

Technology- used to create a team calendar of events (lessons, schedules, etc.) and procedure book.

Additional reflections:
Who would have thought that a trip for a free bag of goodies and coffee would have ended up an an entire meeting. I guess we can meet any place. :-)

To review our impressions of our new kids and how the new "All about Us" unit is going

Resources- schedule of team events, diagnostics of

Discussion points- First impressions- new kids, new intro curriculum,

Next Steps- Wrapping up the "All about us" unit

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
Pedagogy- the entire into unit is desgined to build classroom community. Once the community has been built, students will feel safe to work with each other in a learning environment.

Seemslike things are going well. Kids are really responding to the unit and the team as a whole is really starting to bond.

To wrap up "All About Us" intro unit and plan upcoming BTE

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
Resources- info from FL Holocaust museum, Kavolic book

Discussion Points-Working to bridge the lifeskills and lifelong guidelines into Sarah's unit on the holocaust. We also planned next month's BTE (Being there experience) to the Florida Holocaust museum.

Next Steps- Looking to make connections for splash park unit

Good meeting. Not sure if Paige is going to make it... Nobody should be that unhappy.

Begin looking at Splash Park Project- "Building Community" unit.

Resources- Dawson City Program

Discussion Points- local splash parks, goals for students

Next Steps- Need to find out the contacts involved with the splash park scheduled for pride park

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
Pedagogy- looking into use of computers to create splash park blue prints

NOS- looking into ways to test out water filtration systems

Technology- found site that allows students to design water splash parks

Goal(s) of Meeting
Where are we/where are we goin in "Building Community" strand.

Assist Sarah with engingeering related research projects to go with her "wars and Conflict" portion of building community.

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
Mainly brainstormed ideas for Sarah's research project. Kids will reserach the historical aspects of: medical technology, tanks, transporation, and manufacturing

Next steps: Need to think of a BTE

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
We were desiging instruction that allowed students to discover the engineering technologies used in various war periods. By comparing the advances of science and how it affected the over all nature of those wars.

Parcticipants: Sarah and Amy

Goal(s) of Meeting
Plan the interdisciplinary BTE involving the Civil War

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
Resources- time period reference period

Discussion Points BTE's morning activities will involve putting up tents, learning basic drill, and snack (coffee, beans and hard tack). Afternoons will result in civil war math with Linda, a trip (in formation) to Pride Park with Amy, Waltzing with Sarah, and music from that era with Paige.

Next Step- check to see if we can get costumes from that era

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
We created a being there experience involving all MIs, which taught the civil war (and civil war era) content.

Pride Park trip will allow student to see the site for the proposed splash park

WOW! We really got a lot done. Our meeting wasn't planned, but we really came up with a great idea for this BTE

Write team plans for "All About Us" and "Building Community" to give to Shelbi Write "begging letter" Brainstorm ideas for Antarctic related grant

Resources- engineering benchmarks, Voyager unit book

Discussion Points ------- Wrote up plans, wrote letter begging for engineering firms to assist us and help us or give donations for upcoming projects, began discussion of Antarctic research station project

Next Steps- Write up Shopa grant for Antarctic engineering

Looking for ways to integrate Antarctica into all classes (teaming)

Plan out lagistics for Oct 24 BTE

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
Resources- internet for info for making hard tack, music etc.

Discussion points- figured out the schedule for BTE times- 3 morning rotations and 4 afternoon. Paige making hard tack, Linda making johnny cakes, Amy making coffee. Costumes not going to work out- too close to halloween. Looking into making them.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
BTE event is a hands on expereince involving all subjects.

Parcticipants: Sarah, Linda, and Amy (Paige no longer works at Harllee)

Goal(s) of Meeting
TO begin planning out Exploration/Antarctica unit

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
1. Reviewed the newly received grant from SHOPA for Antarctic Engineering

2. Sarah covering historical exploreres (scott, etc.) She's going to use some of Jason (going to extremes for info on exploration in general)

3. Math- doing research station design project

4. Amy- weather, climate, animals,polar gear, getting there, webpage design with project?

5. English person- space race compared to race to pole, reading Troubling a Star, essays "If I were going to the Pole, I would take..."

Next Step- Linda wants video on what it's like to work at the poles (science in a cold climate) Amy needs to find percentage of station used for storage, look for lessons to go with T.A.S.

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
Entire unit is interdisciplinary- using Antarctica to teach all subjects

Computer use for reserach projects

NOS- labs on insulation, iceberg- all scientic method...

Goal(s) of Meeting
Bonding with Tin Plan the start of the new quarter Get Tin ready for Antarctica unit

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
Bonding with Tin- info about school, kids, past units etc.

New Semester- made new affiramtion schedule, team building exercises (Amy doing find that Antarctic base activity, Sarah reviewing procedure book, Tin introducing herself)

Antarctic Planning- Tin has copy of novel T.A.S., talked about possible research projects, quick talk about Antarctic BTEs (trip to sea world for penguin encounter) and set dates for research station day

Next steps- LInda needs percentages, and video We need to plan activities besides learn to return and white out for our upcoming research station day

Still planning the Antarctica unit- involves all class, all MIs, etc.

NOS- addressed in upcoming science labs

Parcticipants: Tin and Amy

Goal(s) of Meeting
Plan out Antarctic research projects

Overview of Session (e.g., resources used, discussion points, next steps, etc.):
Kids will research one topic (an Antarctic animal, explorer, gear, transporation vehicle, station, etc.) and creat 2 projects. Brown bag project for Tin and webpage with Amy. They will use the same info, but will have separate rubrics for each project.

Came up with topic list and began listing the types of of this we'd want in each research area

Next steps- need to book computer lab and i-book carts, must have grant books numbered and labeled so they can be used by our kids, and we need to write up the rubrics

How did your team address pedagogy, content, the process of science, and the use of technology during the session?
Using research to create products (Alternative assessment), using technology to find information as well as creat project. NOS- addressed in many of topics (science behind the gear, transporation vehicles)
