What is your role within your team?
Facilitator, mentor, resource for materials and ideas.

What professional growth goals do you and your team members hope to reach through this partnership?
The primary person I am mentoring this year is Laura Hickerson. She is student teaching with me for the 2001/2002 school year. The primary goal is to mentor her development as a science teacher. To meet this goal, we are utilizing any appropriate resources including TEA materials. Julie, Mark and Diana are all previous mentees that have incorporated a number of components of the TEA program into their classrooms. All of this has helped me to develop my skills as a mentor and leader for science education in my school and district.

How will you and your team reflect on these goals and on learning and classroom practice (e.g., pedagogy, the use of technology, content, the process of science)?

Mentoring Plan (Revised from Orientation)
I plan to continue mentoring Laura for the remainder of the school year. There will be less frequent meetings with Mark, Diana, and Julie. I do hope to continue working with them and try to organize an Antarctic get together for any local teachers interested in the poles to meet and discuss ways to incorporate TEA materials into the classroom.
