28 November, 1999Transportation in and around McMurdo Station. As I wander around town I have noticed that there are a wide variety of ways to move forward in a vehicle of one sort or another. Today I have for you a whole series of pictures of moving forward mechanisms. I will send all the photos. You can think about when and where it is most appropriate to use each mechanism and on what type of vehicle it might be found. Notice that I can not really call them wheels, or tires, or chains. What kind of track do you think each one will leave?
