Margaret Brumsted
Assignment:
Impact of Increased Ultraviolet Radiation
on Bacteria
R/V Polar Duke, Antarctic Peninsula
R/V Polar Duke. Home to TEA Margaret Brumsted during her Antarctic
expedition.
Checking instruments for deployment.
CTD. This instrument collects water samples at specified water depths. It
relays conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) information to computer
systems aboard the R/V Polar Duke.
Research team member patiently waiting as the CTD is slowly lowered through
the water depths and then raised to the surface.
Filtering the water samples collected from the ocean depths by the CTD.
Further titration analyses conducted on the sea water samples.
Palmer Station, Antarctic Peninsula.
Margaret's research team at voyages end (yes, they all made it!).
