Weddell seal and
pup. The seals maintain holes in the ice pack so that they can return to
the water for food. The holes also serve as breathing holes for the
seals. Dom's team took advantage of the hard work of the seals - they
used the holes for diving, rather than drilling their
Seal using its access to the water below the
Creature from the depths. Dom's team was researching chemical defenses of
Antarctic marine invertebrates.
