Mentoring, Mentoring, Mentoring..... Today we spent a great deal of time
discussing the idea of mentoring. One of the requirements as a TEA
parcticipant is to develop a mentoring plan that will allow us to work in
a close collaborative relationship with other teachers. The endeavor
appeared very daunting as we began discussing it this morning, but as
the course of the discussion progressed many valuable suggestions and
ideas began to emerge.
I would ideally like to collaborate with other science teachers in my
department. I think this is a natural way to introduce arctic material
into the curriculum that is already being taught. This will also help to
continue to foster the "teamwork" atmosphere that I love so much about
my department. Through this collaboration, I hope that the teachers I'm
working with as well as I are able increase our dedication to providing
the best learning situations for our students.
I would also really enjoy working collaboratively with an elementary
teacher. I think the insight and the exchange of ideas would be
remarkably enlightening for both of us. This could also be a remarkable
opportunity for information and Ideas to be shared between the two
different school levels.
