Webcast and rain........
This morning Dr. Baker and I parcticipated in a live webcast for the teachers
selected to parcticipate in the TEA program for the 2003-2004 season. I
found it to be quite enjoyable, and I hope they enjoyed it as well.
It was raining fairly hard this morning, so we decided to set up a few lines
that will be used to collect seismic data. The seismic instruments canšt be
used in the rain so there was no data gathered today.
The smoke from the fires was still present, even with the rain. The rain
and smoke together painted an erie scene....... like something out of a
Stephen King novel.
Dr. Baker and I will be heading back to the glacier in the morning. I hope
the weather is better down there, as I need to collect more radar data on
the glacier.

No, this isn't a thunder cloud. This is smoke blowing in from forest fires around the Fairbanks area.
