How are you sharing your research experience with your colleagues, district, community, etc? We have an ongoing cosmic ray project in our classroom, in collaboration with the University of Washington. Student build & calibrate detectors and counters and analyze data. We also went to see the IMAX movie about Shackleton, and students have seen several powerpoint presentations on various Antarctic topics which I've created.

I received a grant for $ 2000 from the Drachen foundation to fund a student-based kite aerial photography project as part of my Antarctic trip.

I received a $ 400 NASA space mini-grant to support the construction of a small, portable cosmic ray detector I'll take to the pole.
