27 June, 2001Third Day of Orientation at GERG GERG stands for Geochemical & Environmental Research Group of Texas A&M University of which Dr. Kennicutt is director. I think I have met most of the team members that I will be going down with. We will be collecting terrestrial and marine samples which will be analyzed to determine the environmental impact humans and science operations have had on the area surrounding McMurdo Station. I will be assisting in the sample collections.
