Field Day for three home school students at Aurora Pond
1. Three home school students and their parents came to work on Aurora pond. They will be returning on a weekly basis to compare snow depth, snow temperatures, and density values.
2. Surface temperature is one significant data used to determine heat flow. Base temperature is usually warmer than surface temperature due to heat rising (heat flow) from the bottom of the ice.
3. Snow sample collected for snow density calculations.
4. Welcome to Martin's outdoor classroom. Lesson Topic: Calculating Snow Density
5. Portable dry erase board used for density formula
