20 November, 2001My first meal at McMurdo was a surprise... A pleasant surprise. The food here is a Marriott Concession. We arrived today just in time for dinner. The menu was your choice of fried chicken, sweet and sour chicken, pork chow mein, sweet and sour vegetables, regular rice, pork fried rice, pasta, freshly baked bread, several desserts including a soft yogurt/ice cream machine that's always there. We are encouraged to eat a lot of calories and not to diet while on the ice. I'll find out more about that later. I don't think I'll need any care packages from home!
