Journal for 12/05/01 delayed ....

This view is about 100 meters from my tent. Hard to believe the its 20 = degrees below zero (F). Note the lenticular clouds and the broken lava flow.

I know this looks ridiculously fake. This is my view out the window of = the hut, where I'm typing. That's Mt. Erebus, and those aren't clouds. = I'm actually getting used to this already, but it's crazy. =20

Another ice cave. I should probably post one of these every day, they = are so fascinating. One of our team members is a climber, and I hope to = descend one of the caves behind camp this week.
