Today we moved on to site #48 on the sea ice. we again worked with the divers and collected sediment and sea water samples. This site was closer to the shore so it was not as deep as the others; only 62 feet to the bottom. The ice was about 8ft deep. We had another pleasant surprise today. Upon leaving our fish hut, we saw another seal that had come from under the ice through our last hole and was resting on top of the ice.
