A bit of unusual history about Wales. It seems like every year or few
years someone shows as an extreme explorer. This year, we were busy
excavating when Henrik or "Hank" showed up. Hank is a student this year at
the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. He will be going back to school in
his native Latvia soon. Hank is a jounalism major. This year he decided to
come to Wales via kayak! He rowed by himself from Nome. He said it took
him around a month to kayak across. The seas are pretty rough out there.
But all to him! Hope he is safe on his return back out of the Bering Sea
to Nome and then home to Latvia.
