"I'm glad I was able to shake his hand" commented a science student. When
one of the world's finest geologists visits your school, good things tend to
happen. Bruce Marsh met with students, teachers, and the public during his
two-day visit to the High School. The open exchange allowed for a variety of
questions to be answered by a person who has been to Antarctica multiple
times. Bruce placed the expedition goals in the context of the formation of
the planet. Some of these mysteries are locked up in the rocks of the Dry
Valleys region. Bruce also generated a high level of interest in the
upcoming project by discussing the history of Antarctic exploration and by
sharing many of his slides from his previous visits.
