10/5/94
Ice Team Meeting (see Martin's weekly report, attached)
We will stop this afternoon, as usual
Tomorrow we will complete a 24 hour study ! This will probably be our
furthest point southward! We will try to stop near some icebergs for the
oceanographers. We will stop between 0900 and 1000 hours. Most teams would
like to have the opportunity to observe the results of weather changes.
Safety Aspects:
1. Never go out onto the ice alone, especially at night!
2. Let the mate on watch know that you are going out
3. Don't go out in very poor conditions!
The ice team will collect 5 pairs of cores, and then come back on board to
analyze.
