Leaving the Southern Ocean

We have been receiving dooming news of a low pressure system that will whip up some rough waters for us by late tonight. Not good information for crossing Drake's Passage! Fortunately we have plenty of movie choices and other activities to keep us occupied. Especially Rock Band! That game has definitely gotten its money's worth and then some on this ship! One of the drums of the drum set has even blown out because of overuse! We are also working on organizing our hundreds of pictures of all of our work and play in Antarctica and Elliott, Alison and Lindsey are going to make a "best of" video to share while we are all on the ship.

The plan on the white board (this is where activities and other important information are written for everyone to find out in the hall by the galley) for tonight is the movie, Life Aquatic with Bill Murray in the lounge. I have not ever seen this movie and it was so appropriate for our trip, as it is a spoof on Jacques Cousteau and his marine science research. It was very entertaining, and we could all relate to the marine science portion! At about 9 p.m., we past the 60 degree latitude line and the boundary of the Southern Ocean. Onward North!
